Greenhouse Garden Jacquard

Late Romanic garden placed in the old city centre

The Jacquard Garden, is an English garden, yet another gift of the Rossi family to the city of Schio, just opposite the historic seat of the woolen mill and built between 1859 and 1878. Was named in honor of the Frenchman Joseph Marie Jacquard, who invented the eponymous automatic loom.

Art Nouveau building of the early nineteenth century

The Civic Theatre is an Art Nouveau building that could accommodate 1,500 spectators. Thanks to its solid reinforced concrete skeleton was able to withstand several fires that have partially damaged it.

The Cathedral of Schio is the most important church of the city and it is dedicated to the saint patron of the city, St. Peter. The original structure seems to be of the tenth century but between the XVIII e XIX century it was rebuilt in neoclassical style as we see today. Inside you can find the relics of Santa Felicissima, co-patron of Schio.

Memory of Medieval Schio

The first castle of Schio was build in the Iron Age. About the ancient castle now remains only the foundations of two towers, the embattled bell tower with the clock installed in 1900 (today it is considered the civic tower of Schio and the adjacent church of Santa Maria della Neve, sort in the late fourteenth centuryand rebuilt in the eighteenth century.

The church is situated in the small valley between Castle Hill and the low hills, called Grumi, near the Franciscan convent of San Francesco. Under the small building flows a perennial stream, the Gaminella, which flows into the nearby creek Boldòro.

Almerico Da Schio Square, called "Bao" square (insect) from the people of Schio, is a project by architect Luisa Fontana of urban requalification of the late nineties. The square has got an high symbolic value especially if you admire it from the sky: it rapresents an out of scale red thread with a needle at the top trying to mend the urban landscape.

Built in 1810 in Palladian style

Designed by Carlo Barrera, the palace openly inspired by Palladian style, was built by the Fogazzaro family and it is located on Via Pasini. It was the residence of Fogazzaro and it was used as a warehouse for wool and grains, home of the District Court and the Royal Commissioner.

The 7 meters high bronze monument, designed by Carlo Lorenzetti, shows two memorial stones about the two famous brothers.The tombstones are topped by a sculpture of a naked genius who holds a medallion bearing the name of Lodovico and Valentino Pasini.

A building in eclectic neoclassic style

In 1872 the entrepreneur Alessandro Rossi, seen the progressive increase of the female manpower in his woolen mill, made to build a kindergarten in the district worker, more precisely in the Street Pasubio, able to entertain up to 150 children.Nevertheless in 1881 seen the increasing number of applications it was widened and then it was able to entertain up to 500 children.

The Dynamic monument 2005, tall about 8 meters was built for celebrating the centenary of the historian flight of June 17 th 1905 above the skies of Schio of the Airship "Italia" of the Count Almerigo da Schio, great scientist and pioneer of the flight.
